2 week [hiatus] is over

I’m warming up my engines. been off for a few weeks, moving, busy at work. But believe me, that doesn’t mean the issues are taking a break.

I’m loving my new home of Astoria– plenty of updates there, including a diner that serves the best coffee (hush! it’s a secret).

Jose and I found the most incredible antique Korean linen closet in Chelsea — snagged it right before this Korean actor/antique dealer sniffed the drawers (weird) and verified its authenticity (right there on the street and free of charge!)…

I’ve been reading a lot — from Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man to The Fall by Albert Camus to Paths of Sanctuary, my friend Ihsan Bracy’s new novel. Plenty to talk about on that front.

I just got a new Pet Shop Boys picture book, Catalogue, through Amazon — normally $60, I got it for $17 — how’s that for a bargain! BBC calls PSB “Legendary…the most successful pop duo in history.” And I tend to agree. The book features every design featured by PSB — album covers, programs, periodicals, books, singles, etc. It’s a design orgasm.

Berlin is dedicating a portion of the Spree river to a German gay equality advocate who was persecuted by Nazis. Now that’s some international news.

On a more tragic note, a member of the Urban Molecule family passed away last month. I just got word this past week that Stewart Scofield died suddenly in his San Francisco home. I’ll be posting a feature at UrbanMolecule.com about that soon.

But rounding out in spectacular fashion — my niece was born last week! I’ll be traveling to DC with Jose next weekend to visit with the family and meet the newest edition of my wonderful family!!

Don’t forget Mother’s Day this weekend — it’s important to remember the woman who gave birth to you :)

Life speeds up. Can’t slow down!
